The Visit of Iranian Vice-President to Indonesia: Indonesia Supports the JCPOA’s Sustainability

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Indonesia report on July 11th :Indonesian Vice-President Jusuf Kalla has received a visit by the Iranian Vice-President for Women and Family Affairs, H.E. Masoumeh Ebtekar, in Jakarta (11/7). In her visit this time, H.E. Ebtekar carried a mandate as a special envoy to convey a special message of the President of Iran and an invitation to the President of the Republic of Indonesia to attend the 3rd Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit, October 2018 in Tehran, Iran.

During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the development of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) implementation. Indonesian Vice-President affirmed that Indonesia is committed to honoring the JCPOA as a proof of the success of multilateral diplomacy and an important element of the global non-proliferation mechanism. Indonesia hoped that other JCPOA countries could continue to implement the JCPOA.

Indonesia also welcomed the ministerial meeting of Joint Commission of the JCPOA in Vienna, July 6, 2018, as a platform to continue the JCPOA.

In addition to meeting Indonesian Vice-President, H.E. Ebtekar has also met with the Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs at Gedung Pancasila, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. In addition to discussing the development of JCPOA implementation, this meeting also discussed efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Iran in various fields.
